The Murrumbidgee Valley Stakeholder Group represents over 50,000 community members who live and work in this region. Our membership includes representatives from local government, businesses, commodity groups, farmers and the general community.
Our area is built around irrigation and the townships of Griffith, Leeton, Coleambally, Hillston and Hay are the home of several notable national brands such as Steggles, McWilliams Wines, De Bortoli Wines, Casella Wines and Sunrice.
The MVSG was formed as a result of concerns about the impact the Murray Darling Basin Plan would have on our communities and industries. The Guide to the Plan released in October 2010, contained recommendations that would have had devastating impacts for our and many other rural communities within the Murray Darling Basin if they were implemented.
We are passionate that we can have a healthy environment and thriving productive irrigation based communities. We are striving for a fair and equitable Murray Darling Basin Plan that is developed with input from the people of the Murrumbidgee Valley, to ensure the economic, environmental and social sustainability of our basin community.

The draft Murray Darling Basin Plan has been
released. Download the plan here
